Coach says thanks

As the head baseball coach at Jay County High School, I would like to once again thank the Jay Community Center for its support of the junior high baseball teams. Jack Houck and Michael Hunt have been very instrumental in keeping this program running in a first-class manner.

I would also like to thank our sponsors. Without your help none of this would be possible.

Many thanks to the coaches of both teams. I appreciate all the time and effort that you have put forth over the past few months.

The coaches are as follows: Mike Retter, Rick Locke and Rick Mock (West Jay); and Randy Mann, Marc Bogenschutz and Mitch Waters (East Jay).

Congratulations are in order for both teams, as they both finished the season with outstanding records, culminating with the West Jay team winning the ECI tourney.

A special congratulations goes out to Andy Hughes, who was the recipient of the sportsmanship award.

I am very proud of this program and of all the individuals who are involved in it. I would once again like to thank you for your efforts.

Lastly, I would like to congratulate Josh Jellison and Adam Homan for their respective accomplishments and awards in the past baseball season.

Josh was named as a first-team all-state player, and Adam was named to play in the North-South All-Star game.
