Coach Teagle says thanks for support (04/14/06)

To the editor:

The Jay County High School boys basketball team would like to thank our community for their enthusiasm, spirit and support over the past several weeks. We feel very fortunate to have been able to represent the best fans in the state during our journey to the state finals.

It was an unbelievable experience that was magnified by everyone’s passion toward our mission.

Thanks to all those who contributed to ensure our team a first-class trip. We will never be able to fully express our gratitude.

We were overwhelemed by all the good deeds that were shared with us during our tourney run.

We have so many great memories that we have been allowed to collect through this magnificent voyage.

We are very proud to be a part of the Jay County community and we will do our best to demonstrate the characteristics that we feel are representative of its residents.

Again, we want to thank everyone involved in making this a truly unforgettable experience.

Library week

To the editor:

During the week of April 3-7, Jay County High School celebrated National Library Week.

Many of our students participated in a drawing to win prizes. To be eligible for the drawing, students read accelerated reader novels that are housed in the IMC and then took a short quiz over the book.

Students who passed the quiz with a 70 percent or higher were automatically entered into the drawing.

We would like to thank the Portland Arby’s for providing food and drinks to many of our winners. We would also like to thank the Portland Dairy Queen and Domino’s Pizza for providing prizes.

The kids really appreciated receiving delicious prizes from our local restaurants.

Your support enabled us to not only provide prizes, but also encourage students to read.
