Coats plans run for clerk (01/25/08)
Republican candidates for clerk-treasurer of Jay County and the town of Geneva have filed to run in the May primary.
Ellen Coats, currently a second deputy in the clerk's office, will run for Jay County Clerk. A resident of 2361 West 200 South, Portland, she is bidding to replace outgoing clerk Jane Ann Runyon, who is finishing out her second term and prohibited from seeking a third consecutive term.
Also filing in Adams County is Rosie Puterbaugh, the current deputy clerk in Geneva. She is bidding to replace current clerk Doug Milligan, who is retiring at the end of this year.
Milligan was selected for another term in November, but a change in Geneva election cycles meant the term was for just one year. A council seat in Geneva will also be chosen in 2008.[[In-content Ad]]
