College event planned
John Jay hosting C3
By Andrew Kidd-
Jay County High School students and other residents will have a chance to catch a glimpse of their options in higher education Sept. 14 at the John Jay Center.
The C3-College-Career-Connect event, scheduled for 4-8 p.m. will give future college students the opportunity to network with college representatives and receive career, scholarship and financial aid information.
Debbie Howell, student services advisor for John Jay Center, said the event is a way to help students and other residents seeking a college education to reach for what they’re passionate about. “We want to see them grow and find their place,” she said, “not just where they need to be, but where they want to be.”
The event will host more than 12 colleges and universities — including Ivy Tech, Ball State, Manchester, Indiana Wesleyan and IU East. Representatives from local banks will be available for loan discussions.
High school seniors will be able to attend a career party during school hours prior to the event to meet with local professionals in six career categories.
Every attending student will receive a USB memory drive with scholarship and financial information as well as the Jay School Corporation senior scholarship handbook.
For more information, contact Debbie Howell or Cindy Cash at the John Jay Center at 260-729-5525.[[In-content Ad]]
