Kegan Comer played for one of the best defensive teams in the state during his high school career. It was defense again that helped his Cougars to an upset victory Wednesday.
Comer, a 2013 Jay County High School graduate, scored 22 points and the NAIA Division II No. 14 University of St. Francis men’s basketball team limited fourth-ranked Bethel to just 17 in the second half as it rallied for a 79-62 win.
“When we play our defense, we’re among the best teams in the country,” said Comer, who helped JCHS set a record as it allowed just 35 points per game during his junior season. “We’re unstoppable when we play defense as a unit.”
