Company executive praises Quadrozzi (06/08/07)

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:

As a company that develops projects all across the United States, we at POET have been moved deeply by one person's dedication to his career and more deeply moved by his untimely death this past week. That person is Bob Quadrozzi. I am proud to have called Bob my friend.

Bob Quadrozzi knew how to attract new business to Jay County and he was a champion for that community. In all of our dealings with Bob, it was evident that he truly loved what he did. Thanks to Bob and other key area leaders, our ethanol plant project near Portland came to fruition.

We hope that it will serve as one of many monuments to Bob's service to the community.

On behalf of everyone at POET, I'd like to offer our best wishes to the community and to Bob's family and friends.

He will be missed.

Bob Berens, director of

site development, POET, Inc.

Food thanks

To the editor:

On Tuesday, June 5th, Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana commemorated Hunger Awareness Day by distributing 87,978 pounds of food to 2,128 households consisting of 6,303 people through tailgate distributions in each of the eight counties we serve.

Nationally, we would like to thank CMT One Country for their sponsorship.

Locally, a huge thank you goes out to volunteers from Community and Family Services for helping us provide food to 230 families in Portland on this one day.

As we continue our ongoing work of supplying food to local pantries and meal programs year around, we ask each of you to give an hour or two of your time to support these programs. Phone us at 765-649-0292 to find a program near you or log on to our web site at www.curehunger.org.

Sincerely,

Lois Rockhill, executive director,

Second Harvest Food Bank

of East Central Indiana, Inc.[[In-content Ad]]
