Conference honors Rigby
Collegiate Check-up
Tyler Rigby has been honored as one of the best in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, again.
The 2006 Jay County High School graduate was named the KIAC men’s basketball Player of the Week Monday for his effort in Indiana University East’s loss to the 15th-ranked Indiana Institute of Technology. It marked the fifth time Rigby has earned the honor in his career.
Rigby powered the Red Wolves, who fell just short of the upset in a 76-74 defeat, with 23 points. He shot 9-of-15 with three 3-pointers in the loss, in which he came off the court for less than a minute.
The senior also notched five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal.
Rigby followed up that effort by shooting 7-of-14 with 21 points Tuesday in a 93-70 destruction of Brescia. He also had six rebounds, two blocks and an assist.
He ranks 20th in NAIA Division II in scoring at 20.4 points per game. He is also IU East’s No. 2 rebounder averaging 5.9 per game.
Greg Kahlig
Fort Recovery – 2010
Has continued to shine in the starting lineup for the University of Findlay men’s basketball team, which is now ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II.
Kahlig led the Oilers (11-0) for the fifth straight game Dec. 29, scoring 18 points in an 88-49 win over Southwestern. He added four rebounds and an assist.
The freshman was second on the squad with 15 points in Wednesday’s 72-58 triumph over Ashland while taking control of rebounding duties with a game-high nine. He added two assists, buried three 3-pointers and hit all of his four free-throw attempts.
Kahlig has gone 30-of-33 (91 percent) at the line this year and is one of the nation’s leaders in free-throw percentage.

Was named to the Grand Canyon Classic All-Tournament Team as she led the Ohio Northern University women’s basketball game in scoring in both of its games.
