FORT RECOVERY — The village Council announced Monday night that a contract has been awarded to Jutte Excavating of Fort Recovery to complete the Buck Ditch storm sewer project at the price of $15,505.
Fort Recovery village administrator Randy Diller said the project still has a May 19, deadline and that it would most likely be started within the next few weeks.
The village council has also received an estimate Monday from Choice One Engineering from Sidney, Ohio regarding the Fremont Street reconstruction project.
Replacing utilities, curbs and sidewalks along the road will cost roughly $8,980. “We will probably do the utility work ourselves and bid out the curbs and sidewalks project,” said Diller.
Other business discussed at the council meeting Monday:
•Diller presented an update on the ball field lights at Fort Site Park. He said he is finishing the bid packets and hopes to begin accepting bids on the project soon.
•The Park Work Day is tentatively scheduled for May 6, 2006. Volunteers will be asked to weed, mulch and trim the grounds of local parks.
•The village council approved the purchase of 20 street lamps to replace the lamps on Fremont Street, East Center Street and a four-block section of East Street. The lamps were purchased from Mesco Electrical in New Bremen, Ohio at the cost of $24,788.[[In-content Ad]]
