County delays contract for maintenance (07/02/07)
Jay County Commissioners
By By TRAVIS MINNEAR-
Jay County Commissioners agreed to hold off on awarding a contract for maintenance of the county's 911 equipment until the current provider of the service submits a quote.
Quotes for maintenance contracts for emergency equipment services were expected to be submitted this morning, but only one had been submitted to county 911 personnel.
This led commissioners to hold off on awarding a contract until all prices could be evaluated.
Emergency Radio Services submitted a request for a maintenance contract, but officials were still waiting on EMBARQ to bring a figure to the table.
"I didn't hear from EMBARQ," which currently does maintenance on the 911 equipment, said Bill Baldwin, 911 coordinator.
"We didn't get a quote we were supposed to get, so we'll have to reschedule."
Commissioners also were scheduled to hear a proposed plan to raise fees assessed to convicted sex offenders this morning.[[In-content Ad]]
