County personnel policy reviewed (10/20/2008)
Jay County Commissioners
By By STEVE GARBACZ-
Jay County's personnel policy is still a work in progress after a review with the commissioners this morning.
Jay County Commissioners met with personnel consultant Kent Irwin to review the personnel policy. Irwin came in to let the commissioners know there were still a few touch ups that needed to be made.
"I'm suggesting today you take it under advisement," he said. "There may be some things that need to be added, or need to be deleted, in the future."
The group touched on some issues needing a bit more refinement, such as unpaid leave, sexual harassment policy and overtime. A few changes were decided on this morning, but Irwin left copies of the policy with the commissioners, attorney Lon Racster and council members Gerald Kirby and Marilyn Coleman, who have been part of the policy committee, for further review.
Irwin set a date of Nov. 7 to receive any additional changes so he could amend the policy to what will hopefully become the final copy. The final copy will eventually be adopted by the commissioners, county council and department heads before going into effect.[[In-content Ad]]
