County will sell Dunkirk parcels (09/16/2008)
Jay County Commissioners
October will offer the chance to own a piece of Dunkirk.
The Jay County Commissioners set a date for a tax sale to auction off four properties in Dunkirk. The properties will be up for auction on Thursday, Oct. 16 at a minimum price of $250.
The four properties are located on West Washington St., West Commerce Street, East High Street and the corner of North Main and West Railroad streets in Dunkirk.
Commissioner Faron Parr wanted to set the minimum price at $100 to offload the land, but was overruled in a 2-1 vote by Commissioners Gary Theurer and Milo Miller Jr.
More information about the properties can be obtained from the Jay County Auditor's office.
In other business Monday afternoon, the commissioners:
•Made Jay County Sheriff Ray Newton purchasing agent to buy ammunition.
•Opened and tabled four bids for new construction assessment presented by Jay County Assessor Terry LeMaster. This is the second round of bidding for this project after the initial bids had to be scrapped since they were on an improper form.[[In-content Ad]]
