Joanie Wirig and Ryan Laux are planning a May wedding at Visitation Catholic Church in Chicago.
Joanie earned a bachelor's degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2004. She is a graduate student at Illinois State University and teaches fourth grade at Washington Elementary School. Her parents are Tom and Gloria Wirig, Elmhurst, Ill.
Ryan is the son of former Portland residents, Jerry and Kathy Laux, Coldwater, Ohio. He earned a degree in engineering from Purdue University in 2003 and works for General Electric as a manager of operations.[[In-content Ad]]
