CR thanked for editorial

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
Thank you so much for the editorial about Redkey and the bank building.
I sure hope it opens some eyes on what possible reason would the town need or want with another building to maintain.
They now have the old American Legion building to think about, with the back wall falling in.
We have so many vacant places in town already.
The focus should be on so many other things.
Thanks for your input.

Big success
To the editor:
This year’s annual Jay County FFA Parent-Member Banquet was a record year and a huge success. Thank you to all of the area businesses and Jay County residents who donated in any way to our student work experience auction and banquet.  Special thanks are extended to auctioneer, Pete Shawver, and his crew for auctioneering services. A great deal of gratitude is offered to the FFA Agriculture Advisory Board and the Purdue Alumni who helped cook the Fisher Packing marinated butterfly pork chops in addition to helping us throughout the year with many events.  A special thanks to Brad Fisher and Fisher Packing for helping with the outstanding pork chops. Also thank you to the Jay County High School cafeteria staff who did an outstanding job preparing the rest of the meal.
Congratulations to Allen Hilfiker who was named this year’s Jay County FFA Agriculture Hall of Fame/Honorary Member.  Many awards and scholarships were given at the banquet.  Abby Broering was chosen for this year’s DeKalb award recipient, Samantha Homan was the recipient of the Redkey Vet Clinic Record Keeping Scholarship, given by Dr. Wasson and congrats to Anna Muhlenkamp, Sarah Dirksen, Katie Reier, Samantha Homan, and Dylan Swingley for receiving the Michael A. Alig Memorial FFA Scholarship.  These scholarships and many of the activities that the Jay County FFA participates in are all made possible only with the support and generosity of the community and staff at JCHS. We are proud to say that this year’s FFA Sweetheart donation raised $6,250 to add to the Michael A. Alig Memorial FFA Scholarship endowment.
Last but certainly not least, we would like to say thank you to the WPGW for covering the event as well as other FFA activities throughout the year.  We are extremely proud of the achievements and efforts of our FFA members and FFA officer team.  We hope that all who attended enjoyed the evening as we honored and acknowledged our current and past members.  There is no other place like Jay County, every day we are reminded, “It is a Great Day to be a Patriot.”
Thank You for your continued support!
