Createc setback variance OK'd
Portland Board of Zoning Appeals
A local industry has been given the nod to move forward with an addition to its building.
Officials with Createc Corporation, 1619 N. Meridian St., asked for a variance in the required setback from its property line.
The request was granted Tuesday by the Portland Board of Zoning Appeals, allowing the company to construct an addition to the south side of the building to house a new boiler.
The setback requirement for properties zoned industrial is 15 feet from the property line. Company officials asked for a 10-foot variance, meaning that the addition would be located 5 feet from the property line of Coca-Cola Bottling.
A 16-foot by 44-foot boiler room is being built because a larger boiler is needed for production.
The Jay/Portland Building and Planning office did not receive any letters from neighboring property owners either supporting or opposing the project.[[In-content Ad]]
