Curry, Miller wed in August
The Asbury United Methodist Church in Portland, was the scene of the Aug. 16 wedding of Laura Jean Miller and David Wayne Curry. Pastor Keith Olson received the couple’s vows during the 4:30 p.m. ceremony while music was provided by Eric Maitlen, Portland, and Kristin Buttz, Decatur, Ill., vocalists, and Linda Braun, Portland, organist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin tank type A-line gown that featured a caviar beaded bodice and hemline. She carried a cascade of stargazer lilies accented with ivy, stephanotis, and white ribbon streamers.
The bride chose her sisters, Jennifer L. Miller, Indianapolis, and Sheri L. Coldren, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to serve as matrons of honor. They wore wine metallic organza gowns with embroidered empire waistlines. They each carried a bouquet of calla lilies and ivy, accented with silver ribbon streamers.
Dressed identically to the honor attendants were bridesmaids, Kerri Evans, Minneapolis, Minn., Kari Whittington, West Lafayette, and Kasey Wetzel, Indianapolis.
Flower girl was Cori Coldren, niece of the bride, and ring bearer was Cody Coldren, nephew of the bride, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The bridegroom chose his cousin, Darin Moss, Wray, Colo., to perform the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Travis Magoulias, Indianapolis, Chris Spencer, Coal City, Ill., Brian Chunn, St. Joseph, Ill., and Darin Buttz, Decatur, Ill.
Ushering wedding guests were Eric Coldren, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Joel Miller, Indianapolis, brothers-in-law of the bride, and Scott Travelstead, Corvallis, Ore., step-brother-in-law of the bridegroom.
A reception for the couple was held at the Portland Country Club.
The bride is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick L. Miller, 1564 West 300 South, Portland. She earned a bachelor’s degree in allied health sciences from Indiana University, Bloomington, and is employed as an occupational therapist with the Drake Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Wilhour, Decatur, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Curry, Mattoon, Ill. He earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill., and is employed as district manager for Kraft Foods in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Following a wedding trip to St. Thomas and the Virgin Islands, the couple is living in Cincinnati.
