Davis recovering from heart attack
State Rep. Bill Davis is recuperating at his Portland home after a mild heart attack sent him to Fort Wayne's Parkview Hospital on Thursday.
"I feel good," Davis said this morning.
Doctors at Parkview installed two stents to improve blood circulation in his heart, which suffered about 10 percent damage in the attack, he said.
"I never really felt all that bad," said Davis. "I thought I had heartburn."
Davis attended a meeting in Lynn on Thursday morning and went to Jay County Hospital after returning to Portland. Emergency room physicians quickly sent him to Fort Wayne for treatment.
"I was thrilled with the care we got here at our hospital and at Parkview," he said.
Davis was released from the hospital Saturday and is under few restrictions, while taking medication. He will return to Parkview for an evaluation on Jan. 10.
