Drag program a big success

Beat The Heat started in 1986. Denny and Judy Reed from Bluffton have run it. In 1992 the name was changed to “Drags, Not Drugs.” Jay County has won it for 10 years.

A total of $500 is going to the high school out of a total of $5,000. Jennifer Mock, a senior at Jay County, was the overall winner. She won a $10,000 scholarship. Brent Barnett was awarded a $2,500 scholarship.

A total of $500 went to Eric McLaughlin (a teacher at Jay County high School) for the school.
