Dunkirk budget meeting short (08/21/07)
Dunkirk City Council
DUNKIRK - After meeting for about 45 minutes in a special budget workshop session, council members here concluded more data was needed, and scheduled a follow-up budget workshop meeting for 5 p.m. Friday at city hall.
Dunkirk clerk-treasurer Jane Kesler said she would be meeting with Jay County auditor Freda Corwin later in the week in preparation for Friday's workshop session.
Possible salary hikes for city employees were discussed at Monday night's meeting, but no decisions were made. At last week's regular council session, Mayor Sam Hubbard said that he favored a 2 to 2.5 percent across-the-board pay increase for city employees.
Kesler estimated Monday that the 2008 general fund budget total would be $1,090,000, and the motor vehicle highway (MVH) total would be approximately $196,000. These figures are roughly the same as the amounts for last year, she explained.[[In-content Ad]]
