Dunkirk council meeting Thursday (03/11/08)
Dunkirk City Council
DUNKIRK - City Council has scheduled a special meeting for Thursday morning after one set for Monday night was cancelled because just two of five council members were present.
Thursday's meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at the West Jay Community Center, 125 Hoover St. in Dunkirk City Park.
Council members Tom Johnson and Judy Garr were in attendance Monday, along with Mayor Ron Hunt.
City council members Raymond Pettus, Craig Faulkner and Larry Smith were absent.
Under Indiana law, any action taken by a legislative body must be approved by a majority of the total membership of the body. For Dunkirk's five-person council, that means three members must be in attendance.
Among items expected to be discussed Thursday is the awarding of a contract for repairs to the roof of city hall.[[In-content Ad]]
