By To the editor:-
The Portland Area Chamber of Commerce would like to invite all residents of Jay County to attend our Meet Your School Board Candidates Forum, which will be held Thursday, April 15 at 7 p.m. in conference rooms A and B at Jay County Hospital.
The Jay School Corporation has and will continue to be under pressure to address issues such as financing, balanced budgets, rising cost of health care, critical subject teacher shortages, block scheduling, and quality education for all students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
It is extremely important for the public to know and understand the viewpoints of each school board candidate regarding these and other important matters. The format will also provide time for the candidates to address questions from the audience.
The chamber encourages the citizens of Jay County to attend this upcoming forum so they may be better prepared to cast their votes on May 4.
