Election results satisfying

This is in response to Chad Minch’s letter. What he calls a “progressive nation” was here years ago. It was called the Roman Empire before it fell. Another one was Babylon.

I consider myself one of the “conservative Christians” who serves the one true God, not “Bush’s God,” because Jesus came and died for all of His children. God considers Chad one of His Children. God came even for the gays that Chad says “we” hate.

I don’t hate anyone, and all the Christians I know don’t hate gays. We don’t like the way they choose to live and don’t feel we should be forced to accept it. They have a choice in this free country to live as they choose, as we do also.

Chad speaks of “tolerance,” but the tolerance taught today is we are to accept and condone, as right, what is wrong and say it’s O.K. We were taught, according to Webster, that true tolerance is: “Readiness to allow others to believe or act as they judge best,” which is what I, for one, live by as do others I know.

Liberals have been very “intolerant” of Christians. America was founded on religious freedom, which we still have for every other religion but ours. You can’t put “God” in the public.

We are so concerned for the preservation of that freedom that we even allow Muslims to build their temples (or Mosques) here. Which some turn around and use for terrorist activity, like the one near Cincinnati.

It has come down to where we are not allowed to mention God’s name except in cussing. All because we, as Christians, have let down the standards we are to live by for whatever reason.

I, for one, was proud to see Americans put some “feet to their faith.” To see a president not afraid to stand up for what he believes, and not put “party” first — but us, the “average” ones. It is time we stand up for what we believe in. Not to be afraid or ashamed. Chad should thank God he gets to live in a “nation of Divine Will.” I pray this nation does become that.

Chad says Bush wants to be the “messiah.” We don’t want nor need him as the messiah. The Messiah came 2,000 years ago. Mr. Minch knows something about that. Chad says he is “frightened” of our future and “this is a wake-up call to the remainder of the progressive nation and a warning to the conservatives.” Also there is “no way” he was going to work for the “unity” of this nation. Mr. Minch should be frightened if we Christians sit back down on our “laurels” (look that up).

I pray this wake-up call will continue and we will stand up now for our faith. Stand for what is right against all opposition; we are in a battle. Killing babies is wrong. Abortion was never to be used as birth control. Women’s rights should never supersede the baby’s rights (how I wish babies could talk).

There are too many empty arms out there waiting to be filled. But some say, “but you don’t know what kind of family will get them.” It’s better to be dead? I’m sure the baby doesn’t think so.

This nation opened its arms to all people — red, white, yellow, black, even gays. All are welcome and treated with kindness by true disciples of Christ. Remember we don’t have heaven on earth yet. Mistakes and wrongs are done. Not everyone lives what the Bible says.

You don’t need to be afraid of God. He is not a God of hate, but of love. Get to really know him. Read your Bible and see what it really says. By and large, we are all trying to live by God’s commandments. The greatest one being “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, thy soul, thy mind and body,” and second, “Love thy neighbor as thyself” — Matthew 22:37-39. As much as most of us “love ourselves” can you imagine a world such as this?
