FFA auction a big success (04/30/07)

To the editor:

The Jay County FFA chapter and advisors would like to thank all who made this year's Parent-Member Banquet a complete success.

We would like to give a big thank you to all who donated door prizes and items for the grab bags. In addition, thanks to Pete Shawver Auctioneering and all those who helped with the auction.

This year was made special by honoring Robert C. Lyons after 47 years of teaching. Several people from his past toasted Bob with their comical stories and humorous wit.

We commend all of those who donated so generously to the FFA Auction. The auction totaled $30,100. Thanks to the generosity of the community, renewable scholarships were presented to six senior FFA members to further their education.

Receiving scholarships were Jessica Muhlenkamp, Dustin Snyder, Travis Theurer, Jessica Moser, Brock Muhlenkamp, and Dustin Zimmerman.

Without the support of the community, none of this would be possible. Thank you so much for making the Jay County FFA chapter one of the largest and leading FFA chapters in the state.
