Flyers bulldoze Indians, 45-0 (10/07/06)
FRHS football
FORT RECOVERY - It was nice football weather.
Other than that, there's not much good that can be said of the Fort Recovery Indians Homecoming celebration Friday.
Marion Local's Flyers flew in and blew out the Indians 45-0 on a stunning, dominating offensive performance that saw the visitors rack up 537 yards of offense to just 47 yards for the Indians.
Two Marion Local players - Chris Stucke and Kevin Schlarman - rushed for well over 100 yards apiece, while Fort Recovery was limited to just 21 yards for the night on the ground. Stucke rushed for 173 yards, and Schlarman for 147.
Bright spots, aside from the crowning of Homecoming royalty, were few and far between.
Marion Local's first touchdown came on a 41 yard run by Stucke with 7:30 on the clock in the first quarter. Stucke then hit Greg Gehret for a 43 yard pass play for a TD with 5:58 on the clock. Both extra point attempts failed, making it 12-0 at the end of the first period.
Marion Local's Ben Schafer scored on a one yard run at 8:49 in the second, the Marc Otte scored on a 26 yard run at 3:26. Jeff Moeller's kick was good for the extra point on the second touchdown. Then Stucke hit Otte for a 4 yard TD play as the clock ran out for the half. Moeller's kick was good again, making it 32-0 at the mid-way point.
Stucke then picked up his fourth TD of the night (two passing and two rushing) with a one yard run with 8:28 on the clock in the third. Schaefer added another with a 14 yard run with 1:09 on the clock in the third, and Moeller's kick was good.[[In-content Ad]]
