Fort athletes pick up honors
FORT RECOVERY - Six members of the Fort Recovery High School volleyball team earned Midwest Athletic Conference all-academic honors, leading a group of 18 Tribe athletes who got the award Thursday.
Senior volleyball players Nicole Pottkotter, Josie Guggenbiller and Alyssa Brackman and juniors Holly Brunswick, Olivia Thien and Shelby Brunswick were named to the All-MAC Academic team. The award goes to any sophomore, junior or senior who earns a varsity letter and maintains a grade point average of 3.5 or better.
Earning the honor from the Tribe football team were Shane Stein, Ethan Schoenherr, Aaron Vagedes and Ryan Gaerke.
Girls cross country runners Casey Backs, Abby Huelskamp, Alexis Sutter and Christen Wendel got the award, as well as boys runners Ryan Heitkamp, Zach Guggenbiller and Adam Pohl.
Jared Kahlig of the boys golf team also earned the honor.[[In-content Ad]]
