Fort boys defeat Spencerville (12/24/07)

Rammel had the hot hand when it counted most.
Rammel crushed the visiting Spencerville Bearcats with five 3-pointers, leading Fort Recovery to a 63-52 win Saturday night.
The Indians were up by eight at halftime only to have their lead dwindle to two points. But then Rammel did his job.
With Fort Recovery clinging the advantage, Rammel hit back-to-back 3-pointers. Toby Metzger added a steal and a lay-up for a quick eight-point run to a 50-40 lead en route to the win.
The victory pushed the Indians to 6-1 on the year. Their only loss came in triple overtime to Wapakoneta.
Rammel buried five 3-pointers in the game and finished with a game-high 20 points. He shot 7-of-12 overall, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range, as the Tribe shot 59 percent in the first half and 52 for the game, and had four rebounds and four steals.
Greg Kahlig and Metzger joined Rammel in double figures with 13 and 10 points apiece. Metzger racked up seven assists, four rebounds and four steals, Kahlig had five rebounds and two blocks and Clint Tobe grabbed five boards to go along with nine points.
Drew Ring set the pace for Spencerville with 15 points and six rebounds. Zach Bowers had 12 points, and Andy Richardson finished with eight assists and a pair of steals.
Junior varsity
The Indians managed to end up on top of what was a close game throughout, edging Spencerville 28-27.
Brady Kahlig finished with eight points and four rebounds for Fort Recovery (5-2), which had a two-point lead at the half. It picked up the win despite being out-rebounded 25-18.
Josh Wendel added seven points, Cody Fiely grabbed five rebounds and Matt Braun totaled three assists and three steals.[[In-content Ad]]
