FORT RECOVERY - Parkway's wheels fell off in the second half Friday night as Fort Recovery High School's boys basketball team cruised to a 62-51 victory thanks to solid shooting from the field.
The Indians hit 52 percent of their field goal attempts in in the second half, while Parkway's shooting fell to an abysmal 30 percent to give Fort Recovery the win.
For the game, the Indians hit 49 percent from the field and 89 percent from the free-throw line. Parkway ended with just 36 percent of its field-goal attempts going in.
Greg Kahlig again led the way as he hit 8-of-13 from the field, including two 3-pointers, and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line for 24 points.
Clint Tobe scored 17 for the Indians and shared the team high of seven rebounds with Kahlig.
Providing more depth and balance to the Indians' scoring attack, Brent Faller added 10 points and Bobby Rammel had nine.
The teams played to a 13-13 tie in the first quarter, and the Indians were only able to make it 28-26 at the half. But then the shooting kicked in. At the end of three, it was 43-38 and the Indians went on to outscore the visitors 19-13 in the final period.
Jordan Thompson kept Parkway in the game, scoring 25 points. He hit 8-of-15 from the field and added nine free throws. Joshua Fisher followed with 13 points.
