FORT RECOVERY — The Indians got back on the winning track Monday.
Fort Recovery’s volleyball team rebounded from back-to-back losses, clobbering the Lima Bath Wildcats 25-18, 25-16, 25-16.
It had lost twice last week to Division III No. 9 Anna (12-2) and Division IV No. 10 New Knoxville (10-1). The Tribe, which was rated 19th in Division IV last week, dropped out of the poll released Monday.
Tiff Gaerke powered the Indians (8-5) in their victory over Bath, racking up more kills than the rest of the team combined. She finished with team highs of 18 kills, 12 digs and six blocks. She also had four points.
Brittany Brackman added seven points and nine digs. Jennalee Post put up 21 assists, and Abby Niekamp added 10 assists.
Vicki Roessner had eight digs, Kristen Schwieterman notched six points, Julie Link had five kills and Lauren Wenning finished with four blocks.
Fort Recovery’s junior varsity team also defeated the Wildcats Monday, keeping its perfect record in tact with a 25-22, 25-19 win.
Kinnsey Wenning had a big match for the Indians (10-0) as she led the team with 10 kills, 10 points, three aces and three blocks. She also had five digs.
Joanna Snyder finished with six digs to go along with eight points and two aces.
Heather Schmackers put up 23 assists, and Sarah Braun had seven kills and a pair of blocks.[[In-content Ad]]
