Fort falls to the Wildcats (09/05/2008)

MINSTER, Ohio - The Indians have been just fine out of the MAC. It's the conference opponents who have given them trouble so far.
Fort Recovery High School's volleyball team fell 25-15, 26-24, 25-15 Thursday to the Minster Wildcats in Midwest Athletic Conference action.
The loss dropped the Tribe to 3-3 overall, and 0-2 in the MAC. Their other defeats came against Parkway, in their conference meeting and at the St. Marys Invitational.
Senior Kelsey Wuebker's 11 assists and seven points were both team highs for the Indians. Anne Koesters, also a senior, had six kills and four blocks, and junior Chelsey Leuthold totaled nine digs and six points.
Joanna Snyder, coming back from an ankle injury, matched Koesters with six kills, and Emily May added five digs.
Junior varsity
Fort Recovery slipped below .500 with a 25-15, 25-14 loss to the Wildcats.
Olivia Thien led the attacked for the Indians (2-3, 0-2 MAC) with six kills to go along with six digs. Carly Satugler had 12 assists and three points, and Lorrain Shier totaled four points and three kills.
Sarah Knapke came up with 15 digs, and Lauren Staugler had three kills.
Freshman
FORT RECOVERY - The Tribe suffered its first loss of the season, going the distance in a 24-26, 25-17, 26-24 loss to the St. Henry Redskins.
Kayla Kahlig racked up 18 assists and nine points as Fort Recovery dropped to 4-1. Olivia Schwieterman had 10 points, five digs and one kill.
Katelyn Jutte totaled 14 assists, and Ericka Lennartz and Kylie Kahlig each added three digs.
Middle School
St. Henry was in control, topping the Fort Recovery eighth grade volleyball team 25-14, 25-17 and the seventh graders 25-11, 25-19.
Chelsea Pottkotter had team highs of seven kills and five points for the eighth grade Indians (3-2). Janelle Schwieterman finished with five assists and three points, and Kelsey Fiely chipped in three points and a block.
Ashley Homan totaled team highs of six points and two digs for the seventh grade squad (0-5). Becky Brockman and Sierra Pugh each had two points.[[In-content Ad]]
