Fort freshmen defeat Cavaliers (10/05/05)

FORT RECOVERY — The Indian freshmen came up with a big Midwest Athletic Conference win Tuesday while the junior high teams suffered MAC defeats.
Fort Recovery’s freshman volleyball team dropped the first game, but came back for a 16-25, 25-15, 15-8 victory over the Coldwater Cavaliers. The junior high teams took on the Marion Local Flyers, falling 25-21, 25-23 in the eighth grade match and 25-9, 25-4 in seventh grade action.
Chelsea Klenke powered the freshmen as they improved to 5-3. She finished with 14 points, twice as many as anyone else on the team.
Kelsey Wuebker finished with seven points and four kills. Amy Hart also scored seven points, and Annie Koesters had four blocks.
Emily May led the eighth grade team (10-2) with 13 points. She also had three blocks and one kill.
Sylvia Schwieterman had eight points and four kills, and Nicole Pottkotter totaled five kills and five assists. Josie Guggenbiller also had five assists, and Jessica Taylor finished with four kills.
Nichole Kaiser and Olivia Thien notched three and two points respectively for the seventh grade Indians (6-6). Holly Thien had one block.[[In-content Ad]]
