COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Indians fell out of the top five, but only by the slimmest of margins.
Fort Recovery's girls basketball team was voted No. 6 in the Division IV poll by The Associated Press. The Indians finished with 132 poll points, just one behind fifth-ranked Kirtland.
Columbus Africentric (19-1) remained No. 1 in Ohio's smallest division with 228 points, just one ahead of Hopewell-Loudon.
After splitting its last two games, a 46-44 loss to Division III No. 4 St. John's and a 49-41 win over New Bremen, the Tribe sits at 15-3. It hosts the Parkway Panthers (1-16) tonight before closing the regular season at Celina (8-9) Saturday.
The other two losses for Fort Recovery this year came against New Knoxville, which finished 11th in this week's Division IV voting, and Green, a Division I school from near Akron. The Indians own victories over Division III No. 10 Versailles (17-3) and Minster (14-4), which was 13th in the Division IV voting this week.[[In-content Ad]]
