Fort Recovery 4-1 after Saturday split

FORT RECOVERY - After suffering their first loss of the season Saturday, the Indians bounced back to split a double-header.
Fort Recovery watched a four-run lead disappear in the last two innings of the second game against National Trail, but took the game 9-8 in the eighth. The Blazers won the opening, 3-0.
Olivia Thien had a double, two RBIs and two runs in the second game for the Indians (4-1). Marissa Brunswick added two hits, including a double, and two runs, and Erika Muhlenkamp also had two hits.
Kendra Brunswick had three of the Tribe's five hits in the opener.
Andi Sutter struck out 23 batters on the day, 10 in the victory and 13 in the loss.
Junior varsity
The Tribe picked up its first win of the year, topping the St. Henry Redskins 9-8 in the second game of a double header. Fort Recovery dropped the opener 7-1.
Becca Tobe went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs in the victory. She also picked up the win, giving up eight runs - five earned - on six hits.
Janelle Schwieterman added two hits, including a double, and two RBIs in the second game to go along with a pair of singles in the opener.[[In-content Ad]]
