Fort Recovery boys drop fourth straight (01/20/07)

ST. HENRY, Ohio - A team looking to snap out of a slump was looking pretty good after one quarter.
But it was host St. Henry which stole the show over the final three periods, sending the Fort Recovery Indians Friday night to their fourth consecutive defeat in high school boys basketball.
Fort Recovery, which opened the season 6-1, trailed by just a point after a period but lost 73-54 to the Redskins.
The Indians, who drop to 6-5 overall and 2-3 in Midwest Athletic Conference play, will be back at Fort Site Fieldhouse tonight to take on Ansonia.
St. Henry, which was up by a 10-9 margin after one period, rode balanced scoring to victory. Brent Prenger scored a game-high 18 for the Redskins, who also got 15 points from Mitch Niekamp and 13 from Tyler Post.
Fort Recovery's scoring was paced by Bobby Rammel, who had 14, while Clint Tobe added 10 points for the Indians, who shot just 35 percent (20-for-57) from the field.
In contrast, St. Henry connected on 54 percent (27-of-50) of its shots overall, and was also 7-for-13 from 3-point range.
The second and fourth quarters were big for the Redskins, who outscored Fort 21-11 in the second period to take a 31-20 lead. After a competitive third quarter which saw St. Henry build its lead by just two points (to 53-40), the Redskins pulled away in the final period.
St. Henry also won Friday's junior varsity game, beating Fort Recovery 49-28.
