Fort Recovery defeats 'Cats (09/10/2008)
FRHS volleyball
LIMA, Ohio - A three-pronged attack and some big defense and serving from Emily May led the Tribe Tuesday.
Three different Indians combined for 30 kills, and May set the tone on the back row as the Fort Recovery High School volleyball team defeated the host Bath Wildcats 25-21, 25-17, 25-13.
Senior Joanna Snyder set the pace for the Indian offense with 11 kills to go along with six points and six digs. Anne Koesters followed with 10 kills, and Kinsey Wenning added nine kills.
May racked up 15 points and 14 digs for the Indians (5-3), who are now 5-0 against non-Midwest Athletic Conference opponents. Kelsey Wuebker put up 23 assists, Chelsey Leuthold had 10 digs and Koesters totaled three blocks.
Junior varsity
Fort Recovery improved 4-3 with a 25-17, 25-14 victory over the Wildcats.
Olivia Thien finished with seven kills and two digs for the Indians, and Shelby Brunswick had 12 points and three kills. Carly Staugler and Sarah Knapke led the team in assists and digs with 16 and five respectively.
Lorraine Shier added three kills, and Nicole Kaiser had two blocks.
Freshman
CELINA, Ohio - The Indians lost 25-17, 25-18 to the Celina Bulldogs to drop to 5-3.
Olivia Schwieterman finished with seven points, seven assists and a block for Fort Recovery. Hunter McAbee scored six points, Kayla Kahlig had three digs and Kara Faller added two blocks, one kill and one dig.[[In-content Ad]]
