FORT RECOVERY - The game was over almost before it began.
Fort Recovery High School's girls basketball team scored the first 19 points Saturday on the way to clobbering the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks 67-26.
The Indians (14-3) missed their first three field-goal attempts, but then hit seven of their next nine to the game-opening run. Chelsea Leuthold got the scoring started off an assist from Kelsey Wuebker as she scored six points in the run and finished with a game-high 14.
Wuebker joined Leuthold in double figures with 12 points. They shared the team-high of four rebounds with Kelsey Brockman.
Joanna Snyder and Kendra Brunswick each added nine points, and Lauren Day scored eight. Alyssa Brackman dished out seven assists.
Jodi Schmitz paced the Blackhawks with team highs of six points and six rebounds.
Abby Huelskamp had 10 points and seven rebounds to lead the Fort Recovery junior varsity team to a 52-14 victory over Mississinawa Valley.
The Indians' freshman team played Lima Senior Saturday and got 10 points from Ericka Lennartz in a 30-25 victory.[[In-content Ad]]
