A project to install security cameras at Fort Recovery elementary/middle and high school should be complete by the first day of school.
Fort Recovery School Board members were updated on the status of the project to finish installing cameras at the high school. Cameras were installed at the elementary/middle school earlier in the summer and cost approximately $16,000. The project at the high school is estimated to cost $18,000.
School district treasurer Lori Koch said Wednesday that installation of the cameras will help lower the district's insurance costs. She added that district officials have been talking about completing this project for some time now and the recent break in and vandalism at the elementary/middle school just added the reasons why the cameras were a good idea.
Also Tuesday, board members:
•Approved employment for Jayne Evans for the elementary vocal music programs.
•Accepted extracurricular activities resignations from Kyle Wehrkamp, Randy Diller, Ryan Thien and Travis Heitkamp.
•Approved the retirement for Michael Laux, Chris Hamrick.
