Fort students top OAT goals again (07/13/07)
Fort Recovery School Board
FORT RECOVERY - Fort Recovery Schools continue to be one of only 23 districts to score above state benchmarks in a wide range of subjects on the Ohio Achievement Test.
For the past seven years, at least 75 percent of Fort Recovery students have passed the test.
Board members heard results of the test during their monthly meeting Thursday at Fort Recovery High School.
Fort Recovery scored higher than the state achievement level in grades three, four, five, six and seven in reading, writing, math, science and social studies. The district fell just short in grade eight social studies despite being 28 points above the state average.
The state requires 75-percent of a district's students pass the test.
Graduation rate and attendance rate are also examined.
In other business, board members:
•Voted to not change lunch prices for the 2007-08 school year. Price will remain $1.50 for kindergarten to fifth grade, $1.75 for grades six through 12, $2.50 for an adult lunch and 25 cents for an extra milk.
