FR teams win 3 over Parkway (12/07/05)

Fort Recovery’s middle school basketball teams picked up three victories in four tries against the Parkway Panthers Tuesday.

The Tribe boys traveled to Rockford with the eighth graders dominating for a 56-27 victory, and the seventh grade team also coming out on top 38-24. The Indian seventh grade girls team won 34-20 at home against Parkway while the eighth graders fell 21-18.

Josh Wendel paced the eighth grade boys, who outscored the Panthers by at least six points in every quarter. He finished with 19 points while Greg Kahlig had 12 and Cody Fiely finished with nine.

The seventh grade boys got scoring balance led by eight points from John Homan and seven by Craig Kaiser. Craig Fortkamp, Kyle Schmitz and Ryan Link each added four points.

Kendra Brunswick scored seven points and Holly Brunswick added six as the seventh grade girls team won for the first time this season. Nicole Dilworth, Olivia Thien and Abby Huelskamp added four points apiece.

Chelsea Leuthold had seven points and five rebounds as the eighth grade girls suffered the lone Fort Recovery defeat of the night. Nicole Pottkotter scored six points.[[In-content Ad]]
