FRHS loses to Lancers, Knights

FORT RECOVERY - Neither view worked out Saturday for the Tribe.
The Fort Recovery High School softball team dropped both of its games, losing the opening 2-1 to the Lincolnview Lancers and game two 11-1 against the Division IV No. 1 Crestview Knights.
The Indians (5-5) had a solid start to the day, taking a 1-0 lead in the second inning over Lincolnview. But the Lancers bounced back to score a run in the bottom of the third inning and another in the bottom of the fourth thanks to FRHS errors.
The loss came despite the Tribe out-hitting Lincolnview 8-1, with Joanna Snyder going 3-for-3 and Kinsey Wenning added two hits. Kelly Sudhoff scored the team's only run.
Wenning took the loss, although she tossed a one-hitter and did not allow an earned run. She struck out four batters and walked two.
Top-ranked Crestview scored at least one run in six out of seven innings, racking up 17 hits. Andi Sutter suffered the loss, giving up 11 runs - 10 earned - while walking three and striking out two.
Sutter singled and drove in the lone Tribe run in the game. Wenning had a single and a run.
Junior varsity
Fort Recovery destroyed the host Tri-County North Panthers 23-9 and 29-3 in five innings Saturday.
Nicole Hart led a dominant offensive day for the Indians, who picked up their first two wins of the year. She went 5-for-6 with a double four runs and two RBIs in the opener, and had four hits, four runs and two RBIs in game two.
Taylor Guggenbiller added three hits, five RBIs and three runs in the first game, and Karissa Will had four hits, including a triple four runs and two RBIs in the second.
Beca Tobe went the distance in both games to earn a pair of wins. She struck out a total of seven batters.
