FRHS tops Wildcats (01/19/2009)

HOUSTON, Ohio - Fort Recovery High School's boys basketball team bounced back from its loss Friday night to Coldwater with a 52-46 victory Saturday over the Houston Wildcats.
The Indians trailed by seven after the opening period, but dominated the second for a seven-point lead at the half as it outscored Houston 34-13 in the middle two quarters. They led by as many as 18 points early in the final period, and the Wildcats never pulled closer than the final margin of six.
Fort Recovery is now 8-3 overall, and 5-1 in non-conference action.
Greg Kahlig led the Indians with 16 points and eight rebounds, and Craig Tobe followed with nine points and five boards. Frank Thien dished out seven assists, Toby Metzger had five rebounds and four assists and Brent Faller also grabbed five boards.
Josh Cornett powered Houston with 17 points, and Zach Kiehl added 10 points and five rebounds. Adam Grillot totaled nine points, six assists, five rebounds and a pair of steals for the Wildcats, who struggled to a 34-percent shooting night from the field.
