FORT RECOVERY — Dominance in the throwing events still wasn’t quite enough.
Fort Recovery’s junior high girls track team swept the top three spots in both the shot put and discus, but still fell just short and finished second to the Franklin Monroe Jets in Tuesday’s three-team meet.

The Tribe boys team also finished second with 46 points. Franklin Monroe won with 71 points, and Fairlawn was third with 34.
Anne Koesters paced Fort Recovery’s throwing domination, easily winning both events. She was first in the discus by nearly 30 feet with a toss of 87 feet, two inches. Teammate Lorraine Shier was second at 58 feet, eight inches, and Carly Staugler followed in third.
Koesters cruised in the shot put as well, throwing 27 feet, eight inches. Shier was again second at 24 feet, six inches, and Jessica Link took third.

Tobe and May also joined Staugler and Tina Roessner to win the 4x400 relay.
