Funds ordinance gets green light (03/28/07)
Geneva Town Council
GENEVA - The town council here approved the first reading of an ordinance outlining how it will utilize County Economic Development Income Funds.
Council members Mike Schwartz, Lew Wingler and Jim Timmons voted Tuesday that half of the approximately $60,000 CEDIT funds will go toward the town's commitment to the new Adams Memorial Hospital, Geneva clerk treasurer Doug Milligan said. Approximately 13 percent will go to the Adams County Economic Development Commission and the remaining funds will be used by the town, he added.
Council members will vote for the second and final time on this ordinance at its April 3 regular meeting.
A resolution was previously approved by the council, but county officials required that the move also be made in the form of an ordinance.
Also Tuesday, the council approved a resolution authorizing Milligan to oversee paying bills and receiving funds for the approximately $600,000 grant from Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority for a housing project at Red Gold.
The town is serving as the fiscal agent for the company's construction project of a 18-unit housing building at its Geneva site.[[In-content Ad]]
