Gaerke, Flyers open 3-0

A Fort Recovery High School graduate helped the University of Dayton volleyball team to a 3-0 start that included an upset of 19th-ranked Purdue.
Tiff Gaerke recorded seven kills Aug. 29 as Dayton knocked off the host Boilermakers 25-23, 25-20, 17-25, 22-25, 15-11 at the Mortar Board Premier.
The 2007 FRHS graduate also had four digs and one ace in the victory as the teams met in the final match of the season-opening tournament.
Gaerke also had seven kills, four blocks, three digs and an ace as the Flyers rolled over Ball State in three games. She had four kills, five blocks and three digs in Dayton's win over Coastal Carolina in the first match of the tournament.[[In-content Ad]]
