Gaerke leads Flyers over UC

Tiff Gaerke recorded the fifth double-double of her career Tuesday in helping the University of Dayton volleyball team to a 27-25, 29-27, 24-26, 25-21 victory over Cincinnati.
The 2007 Fort Recovery High School graduate had a team-high 13 kills to go along with 11 digs as the Flyers improved to 12-2. She added four blocks - two solo and two assists.
Gaerke also had 10 digs, eight kills, two blocks and one aces as Dayton fought off Xavier in five games.
The junior leads the Flyers in aces and is 10th in the Atlantic 10 with 16. She is second on the team with 148 kills.

Tied for fourth Sunday in the Valparaiso University men's golf team's 316-358 victory over visiting Chicago State.
Gray shot a 9-over-par 81 in the match at The Course at Aberdeen. He tied with teammate Andrew Beischel and Chicago State's Lourne Butte as the Crusaders posted five of the top six scores.

Finished 170th for the Indiana Wesleyan University women's cross country team, which placed ninth out of 22 teams Saturday at the Roy Griak Cross County Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota.
Johnson posted a time of 26 minutes, 5.6 seconds in the field of nearly 300 runners.
Maddie Moore
South Adams - 2009
Contributed to the Bluffton University women's soccer team's barrage of shots on goal Sept. 23 in a 7-4 win over Trine.
Moore had a pair of shots on goal as Bluffton finished with 13 in all. She added one shot each in losses Saturday to Mount St. Joseph's and Tuesday to Oberlin.

Played on the special teams unit Saturday as NCAA Division III No. 9 Ohio Northern University's football team fell 38-36 to 18th-ranked Otterbein.
