Collegiate Check-up
When Tiff Gaerke got into the starting lineup, she made the most of it.
After coming off the bench in the first two matches Aug. 29 and 30 for the Dayton University volleyball team at the ASU Sheraton Classic, Gaerke started and led the Flyers in kills against host Arizona State in its final match of the weekend.
Gaerke, a 2007 Fort Recovery High School graduate, racked up an impressive .385 attack percentage and hammered home 12 kills in Dayton's 25-18, 25-19, 28-26 loss to Arizona State. She also had one dig and three blocks.
The sophomore, who played in 13 matches last season and had 21 kills, totaled six kills, two digs and two blocks in the Flyers' opening victory over UNLV. She added seven kills in a loss to South Carolina before leading the way in Dayton's tournament finale.
Gaerke and her teammates are hosting the Dayton Flyer Invitational this weekend.

She will be in action again today as the Foresters travel to the Hanover College Invitational.
Trisha Champ
