The Glass Museum would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to our recent fund-raising efforts to purchase display cases for the museum. As you know, we received a matching grant of $1,400 from the Portland Foundation to purchase display cases for the recently acquired cup plate collection. We were able to raise the matching funds along with additional monies. This enabled us to purchase and even pay for the shipping for four large display cabinets, which will arrive within the next two to three weeks.

Along with the matching grant from the Portland Foundation of $1,400 we received a grant of $1,000 from United Way of Jay County as well as contributions from the following individuals or groups: four memorials in memory of Wendell Wells, Bonnie Hittle, Delta Theta Tau Sorority, Dunkirk American Legion Post 227, Pacesetter Bank, B.P.O.E. No. 1776 (Dunkirk Elks Lodge), Kiwanis Club of Dunkirk, Gerald R. Kirby/Kirby Enterprises, Jim Bob McEwen, Research Club, Janice Stucky, Sam Hubbard, Robert and Joan Countryman, Rob Weaver — WPGW, Dunkirk American Legion Auxiliary Post 227, Citizens First State Bank, Kathrine Haensel, Research Club individual members, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1352, Dan Watson, Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, John and Marcella Hoover, GMP Local Union No. 121 Hot End Union, Jay County Solid Waste District which contributed funds to purchase an extra cabinet for the cup plates display, and various visitors to the Glass Museum and Main Street Festival. All of these contributions were greatly appreciated.

We are hoping to have a grand opening for this new exhibit in early spring. We will notify the public when the exact date and time of the event will be. All of us here at the Glass Museum appreciate the continued support of the community and wish everyone all the best for the upcoming New Year.

The Glass Museum will reopen its regular season on May 1, 2004, however special tours may be arranged during the winter months.

Please feel free to phone us at any time for arrangements at (765) 768-6872.

Sincerely,

Ailesia Franklin,

executive director,

The Glass Museum
