Godly, ungodly can't be married

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
The Flood is the greatest single event in the history of the earth since the days of Creation.
Our Lord said the Great Flood was a prototype of the Final Judgment awaiting this present world (2 Peter 3:5-7).
As for the first generation, the wickedness of man was so great that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was evil continually (Genesis 6:5).
Noah was a preacher of righteousness (2 Peter 2:5) and warned his generation that judgment was on its way in the form of a flood. People laughed, joked and scorned as he built a 450-foot long boat, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high (at least).
It is reasonable to assume that the population in Noah’s time was a least equal to the population of the world today. And of the thousands that came by to take a look at this crazy preacher that had gone too far and lost his mind. Noah was never intimidated by the crowds and never lost touch with his Lord. “As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be in the coming of Jesus” (Matthew 24:37-39).
So, are we there yet? Are we living like those people did in Noah’s time? How about the days of Lot? I believe we are.
Think about these things:
1. The great falling away from the Church is happening right before our eyes. So-called believers have dropped out and each one now “has their faith.” Everyone seems OK to stay at home on the Lord’s Day and watch TV. What a shame. (What does Hebrews 10:25 say?)
2. Elton John recently reported that “If Jesus were here today, He would approve of the gays lifestyle and let them all marry. (Which Jesus is he talking about?)
3. Do we have problems in Jay County with drugs, alcohol, illicit sex, pornography and the worship of devils? (Is it getting any better or are things out of control?)
4. With over 100 churches in Jay County why are things like they are? Have the godly been so influenced by the ungodly that the two have merged? Evidently, because one may join the “church” today and still remain entirely of the world in life and character. As today’s godless generation applauds all the advances of sin and abominations, the so-called church has grown so accustomed to these fiendish orgies that they are no longer disturbed by it.
But not everybody that says “I believe, I have faith” are attending the marriage ceremony of the “Believers and the world.” This present world (which means this age and its sins) is the Enemy of God and the righteous. Not everybody have backslid and compromised their beliefs and convictions, just to be “politically correct.” Noah appeared to his generation to be out of touch and “old-school”. His message was old-fashioned and not popular and it seemed he had lost his mind. He stood in the way of the ungodly, who wanted God and His Commandments out of their way so they could do whatever they wanted (Romans 1:24).
Even Satan and his legions have been surprised at how easy it is to influence “the people of faith” and have “those that believe” to marry the world.
But, guess who survived the Great Flood? Noah and his family.
A person told me recently, “We have our faith”, and we’ll be at church whenever it’s convenient. If you were as faithful to your job as you are to God and His Church, you’d be fired.
Please don’t attend the marriage between the godly and the ungodly. This marriage represents the fact that today the line of separation between the godly and the ungodly is being wiped away. The Word of God is being rejected. The Laws of God have been set aside, and men no longer feat God of fear to transgress his commandments.
We’d better be thankful Noah didn’t compromise and “marry” his present world; You and I couldn’t be here today if he did. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Sincerely,
Pastor Phill Jellison
