Good friend, good-bye (2/19/04)
Editor's Mailbag
By To the editor:-
I noticed the obituary of a good friend today. Ernest Loy was indeed a valuable asset to this community, and his passing leaves another pair of shoes un-filled. Ernie was always willing to lend a hand when and where-ever needed, and usually did not receive, nor ask for, anything in return.
He was a member of almost every social organization in our community, and served many in the capacity of a board member, or officer of some type. This all takes time, and time is one of the most valuable things we have.
I, for one, am thankful that Ernie was so willing to give of his time to all of us in one form or another, over the course of his life.
I consider it an honor and a privilege to have known him, and have him as a friend.
Goodbye Ernie, you will be missed, and indeed there are another pair of empty shoes to fill in our community.
Sincerely,
James D. Fulks III,
