GOP: Put Trump in his place
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
I just watched two news conferences featuring Donald Trump and President Obama. Trump, in his usual style, was bragging about being the only person who could essentially force the president to produce his “real” birth certificate.
The president, in his usual style, calmly addressed the carnival nature of the question and how it distracted attention from the real issues of jobs, the economy, etc.
In my opinion Donald Trump’s stupidity is exceeded only by his arrogance. It’s absolutely appalling to even entertain the idea that he might run for the presidency, much less win.
His relentless focus on the “birther” issue is a scary snapshot of how he would conduct the business of government both domestically and internationally.
It is shameful the Republican Party has not put him in his place.

Closing?
To the editor:
I wish to express my appreciation to June Domingo, prior owner/founder of Curves for Women, Portland, along with Carri Hartzell, the present owner.
For the past seven years I have been able to work at my job virtually pain-free and also to get a complete body workout of every muscle group.
I am especially thankful for being able to do this workout in only 30 minutes a day, as well as being able to keep my weight and cholesterol under control.
If no one buys Curves by May 20, its doors will close.
I want to give my gratitude to Carri and Joyce Hartzell and Shelba Chenoweth for keeping it open as long as possible.
I want to thank everyone who has worked at Curves since 2002. You all have been a tremendous blessing to me.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Landfair
