Group says thanks (12/02/2008)
Letter to the Editor
To the editor:
Gamma Nu Sorority of Redkey wishes to shout a big thank you to the businesses and people that donated a gift card or product to help make our senior citizen Thanksgiving dinner a success on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Also thanks to all that helped cook, make pies and with that awful clean-up. Thanks a million again. See you next year.

To the editor:
We are trying to get the child support laws changed in Indiana. If you are tired of dealing with a deadbeat dad or mom, if you know someone who is, or if you would just like to help, please send me an e-mail at [email protected].
We need a lot of letters to get our voices heard in Congress. I do not work for "the system" in any way. I am a private citizen trying to make a difference.
We are tired of sharing our rights and priveliges with parents who don't want to share our responsibilities. We are tired of being told we have to follow the rules, but those rules don't seem to apply to the deadbeat parents we are dealing with. We are tired of seeing one court date after another, yet nothing changes. And we are tired of making excuses to our children about why daddy or mommy lied again.
It is time these parents were held accountable for their actions. It is time to protect our children from these people who don't care.
We can help a lot of families if we get these laws changed.
