Help needed (5/23/03)

I am have been a citizen since birth of this grand state of Indiana. I am an American, and a patriot, as was my father, and my father’s father.
My brother is serving now in the Air Force, and my father is retired Navy. We are your Americans. The majority of whom our President Bush and U.S. Senators represent.
I never have asked anything of this great state, but now I must. I need help.
Due to my disabilities, I was unable to join the Air Force with my brother. I have tried to manage to live, to survive, without assistance, but now I am truly at my last rope.
I am young, 21, which in most ways makes things worse for me. I have been in over three auto accidents, none which were my fault. Most I was not even the driver.
The doctors and others have no idea how I lived.
But live I did.
Last year, in the summer of 2002, I was burdened with two hernias. This on top of my other disabilities was more than I was able to handle. I was unable to continue to work, even for just a few hours a day. I am, and continue to be, in unbearable constant pain.
I do not have medical insurance. No one here in the state of Indiana will do surgery unless I can bring forth the cash first. The surgery would be for the two hernias. My other disabilities are permanent. In the last year I have lost my place to live, my car, my job, and now, my pride.
I have years of medical records and emergency room visit records, etc. But after one year of jumping through hoops I received a letter of denial from the disability social security office. I have been to every place in Portland seeking help. I have received none.
Will you help one of your own American citizens? I know we spend billions of dollars helping other people in other countries. But sirs, I ask you this: Will you help one of your own citizens?
Thank you for your consideration.
